After approx 24 hours in the queue waiting for review and then another 24 hours in review, HashWord was approved for sale in the iPhone App Store on Friday Jan 29th! The Requirements listed on the App Store say it requires iPHone OS 3.1.2 or later. I don't remember specifying that as I tested it on earlier versions and thought I keyed that in during submission. I guess if you are interested in this app on earlier versions drop me a line by replying to this post or email me.
